Members must actively
serve on a SWPAPC planning-related or other committee. Members who serve
on the Board of Directors (other than Committee Chairs) shall have that
service count as committee service. Committee members with less than
three months of committee service do not have a vote at any Annual or
Special Meeting. Members must apply from one of four categories:
MEMBERSHIP FOR INDIVIDUALS EMPLOYED BY AN AIDS SERVICE ORGANIZATION/AIDS
SERVICE PROVIDER. These members participate by virtue of their employment
or leadership position at a non-profit charitable, public, and/or voluntary
organizations operating within the region including, but not necessarily
limited to, governmental entities, charitable institutions or agencies,
and civic, service, or social organizations. Such organizations must
provide services aimed at the prevention of HIV infection, and/or provide
HIV/AIDS-related education services. The membership of these individuals
must be sanctioned by their organization.
MEMBERSHIP FOR INDIVIDUALS EMPLOYED BY OTHER
ORGANIZATIONS. These members participate by virtue of their employment
or leadership position at a non-profit or for-profit public and/or private
organizations operating within the region including, but not necessarily
limited to: academic
institutions, corporate or private foundations, and corporations or
businesses. Such organizations must have a demonstrated interest in
HIV/AIDS (e.g., fund or plan on funding HIV/AIDS services, conduct or
plan on conducting academic research, provide or market goods and/or
services for persons with HIV). The membership of these individuals
must be sanctioned by their organization.
MEMBERSHIP FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CONSUMERS. Individual consumer
members participate by virtue of being a person affected by HIV/AIDS
including a person living with HIV/AIDS, their parent, their child,
or their spouse/lover/domestic partner.
MEMBERSHIP FOR OTHER INDIVIDUALS. These individual members participate
by virtue of their interest in and commitment to the goals of the SWPAPC
and their personal and/or professional expertise and skills.
